Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive case study on implementing VLAN segmentation using MikroTik CCR1036 router in a public hospital environment. We discuss the trade-offs between operational simplicity and security posture, present the network topology, and analyze traffic flow patterns. Results show 92% reduction in lateral movement potential while maintaining sub-millisecond inter-VLAN latency for critical clinical applications.
