Abstract
Patient communication through traditional channels suffers from low engagement rates. This study evaluates the integration of WhatsApp Business API gateway with a hospital information system for appointment reminders, lab results delivery, and prescription refills. A 6-month pilot at three district hospitals showed 87% read rates within 2 hours, compared to 34% for SMS.
